First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at buybuy BABY.
Assistant Manager
Spoke with HR for about an hour then set up interview for in-store with manager. The interview lasted 2 hours. A comment was made about the pay I was asking for, then I knew I wouldn't be hired. They also kept asking about another location that is about an hour from my house, so yeah, pay needs to meet that.
- Can you describe the job?
- What's your experience with merchandising?
- Would you be okay with standing and stocking freight?
Manager
Got an email a week after applying. First was a phone interview, then an in person one. I thought it would be just with the store manager, but the District Manager (DM) was also there and did most of the talking. The DM asked typical interview questions. After it was done, I was told I'd hear from the HR person I spoke with on the phone. It's been a week and I'm still waiting to hear back.
- What are your long-term career aspirations within the company?
Manager
I had to interview with 5 people, which was super inconvenient because it was an hour away from my city, and it was at a Bed Bath and Beyond store. I had to wait because they were an hour late. One interviewer was really condescending, but I stood my ground, and he said that's what he wanted to see if I was strong enough.
- What's the minimum salary you would be willing to take?
