Data Scientist
It was pretty straight forward. About 5-6 interviews with different teams. They were super interested in details around how to solve current issues they are having. You need to know their business model, the industry they work in and understand how your experience can help them.
- What's your approach on feature engineering?
Data Scientist
I had a HackerRank online test that lasted 120 minutes and had one question. The question was to define a function/algorithm to solve the red and black card gambling game. The rules were: randomly pick a card from a deck of 52, if the card is black, you win $1, and if the card is red, you lose $1.
- Can you define a function or algorithm to solve the red and black card gambling game, where drawing a black card wins $1 and drawing a red card loses $1?
- What is the current expected value of the cards drawn from the deck, and should you continue playing?
- Output the current expected value of the cards you draw from the deck and whether or not you continue with this game (True or False).
Data Scientist
Had a great experience, felt welcomed right away. The process included an online coding challenge, a phone screening with my potential future manager, and then an onsite with three interviews.
