Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Buro Happold.
Intern
The interview involves meeting with HR and an engineer. It starts with you introducing yourself, then HR asks questions based on that. After that, the engineer asks their own questions, and they're not super technical.
- What is your understanding of sustainability?
- What makes you want to work here?
Intern
The first interview was great, the people were really nice and told me a lot. I got to the last round and talked to two people. They were not friendly at all and seemed like they were against me from the start. One of them barely spoke or asked questions. It's a shame that a company like Buro Happold has senior HR people who can't be decent during an interview.
- Can you tell me about your experience with Microsoft Office?
Internship
After submitting an online application with questions about my suitability, my thoughts on future challenges in the built industry, and urban planning, I had an in-person interview. It was with 3 people, and felt casual and friendly. The focus was on why I wanted the internship, my future career goals, my CV, and my past academic and extracurricular experiences.
