It was a quick and easy process with lunch included. It was more informal so not many difficult questions were asked. I met the supervisor and some peers, who seemed happy. Not a lot of people were there because people are working partly remote.

I had to reschedule because of a family emergency. I explained my current duties in detail. The recruiter mentioned they were looking for someone with extensive Word skills, so I elaborated on my experience. However, they didn't seem very interested, making me feel they gave me inaccurate information. When I asked some questions, they seemed evasive. I inquired how COVID impacted the company. They stated that while people expect hybrid work, they themselves do not, mandating a full-time in-office presence Monday through Friday, which was a deal-breaker for me. They believe remote work leads to people taking advantage and being less productive, contrary to my experience. In my city, with terrible traffic, remote work is the preferred norm. I then asked about a specific issue they wanted this new hire to tackle. They responded that they simply needed someone to fill the position, which suggested to me they were quite desperate and that the previous person might not have left under favorable circumstances.
