Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bunzl.
Purchasing Agent
It was a pretty standard two step interview process. The first interview was with the department head, and the second was with the department head and the regional manager. The job offer was contingent on a clean drug test, though, which was the first time I've ever had that come up as part of the process. The most telling part was in the call where I was offered the role I was pressured to accept immediately despite asking for time to review the benefits and entire compensation package.
- What makes you want to join our company?
- What skills and experience do you possess that would be valuable for this role?
Buyer
Applied online and then had a phone interview the very next day. It was about 10-15 mins and pretty easy, with general questions. After that, I was called in for a face-to-face interview with the National Procurement Manager and the Lead Buyer. This interview was also pretty straight forward. They asked about my current job duties, presented some scenario-based questions, and inquired about the vendors I collaborate with. The entire interview process took around 30-45 minutes.
- Can you describe a typical day in your work life?
- What are your current job responsibilities?
- Could you share some work-related scenarios you've encountered?
Assistant Buyer
The interview process involved two online interviews and one timed MS Excel test. There was no coordination with HR. Both interviews were functional, one with the line manager and the other with the director. The first interview lasted 20-25 minutes, and the second was 15-20 minutes.
- Can you describe your previous experience?
- What specific roles did you hold?
- What accomplishments are you most proud of?
