Marketing Manager
Applied on Indeed and was quickly moved through an interview process. The company feels like it might be a pyramid scheme, relying on recruiting young talent and using sales tactics. It might be good for someone starting out in sales or looking to develop business and management skills without a college degree. The team seemed diverse, young, motivated, and supportive. The interview process involved a mystery call with fast talking and unclear communication, followed by an email from a strange server with no signature. I was asked to arrive early with a resume. A second call confirmed my attendance. The first interview was on a Saturday in a Chicago Chase building, with unclear initial directions. The office was nice, and employees seemed friendly and young. The second/third interview was on a Monday. My interviewer was late, and I waited with other candidates for a while. The team meets at the beginning and end of each day and sounds very upbeat. The second round interview was a paired interview in a small conference room, where background didn't seem to matter as much as looking presentable and giving certain answers. The interviewer explained the performance-based pay structure and commission system, highlighting the company's growth-dependent model. They spoke quickly, using sales tactics. After the interview, we waited longer and completed a long question sheet. We had concerns about the interview running over the promised time. I then had a final 1:1 interview where I was told I'd get a recommendation and they wanted to hire me. I asked for time to think, which wasn't well-received, and I was given 24 hours. I declined the offer.

Marketing
They asked for a first round within 24hours after my application. I had the chance to meet the CEO, a really professional meeting, talking about my gals and ambitions. I also had a paper-based questionnaire before meeting again with the CEO for talking about the position he would offer me. It was a great professional experience, knowing it was just my second american interview. You just have to be confident in yourself and there is no reasons why it couldn't work.
- Could you tell me why you are interested in our company?
Human Resources and Recruiting
First interview was less than 10 minutes. Met with the CEO who told me a little about the company. He only asked questions like when could I start and what hours I could work. Really nice guy. Asked me for a second interview where I met with the assistant manager who told me more in depth about the company, their goals, the position, compensation, etc. Also very nice and informative. Told me that he would call my references then would get back to me on whether they were going to make an offer or not. My interview experience was fine, but they never called me to even let me know that they did not want to offer me the position. This place is a start up company and is definitely still trying to get a feel for how to run things, but regardless of that, it is very important to follow up with your applicants and interviewees. Not bothering to follow up with someone who took the time to interview is terrible business.
- What motivated you to apply for this role?
Marketing Sales
My interview went pretty smooth, the first interview had typical questions like what my plan is in 5 years, why I want to work there, and what my strengths are. I passed that one and got scheduled for a second interview. They explained the job then, which is door-to-door sales for AT&T Uverse and some gas company stuff.
