The interview process had a few steps: first, an online test, then a phone screen, and finally a panel interview. The online test involved an excel spreadsheet where I had to know how to concatenate, and I also had to search the website to find certain items in different categories.

Right after applying, I got an email with an Excel test. After that, I had a 1-on-1 phone chat with a recruiter, which was super informal. Then, I had a face-to-face meeting with the same recruiter and two managers from the department; it was also pretty casual. They asked about my background and how I'd manage certain situations. We even talked about video games and whether I prefer a keyboard or mouse. My third and final interview involved the recruiter, one of the managers, and all the department heads. This one was way more formal, and again, I was asked about my experiences and how I'd deal with issues. After that, I got the job offer.

After I applied online, I got an Excel test within a couple of hours. It was a really detailed Excel test, probably the most in-depth I've ever seen. They also require a 40 wpm typing speed, so I had to get a typing certificate. About a week later, I had a phone interview with recruiting. They asked basic questions about my experience and background, and I think they were also checking if I’d be a good fit for the company culture. A few days after that, I had my first in-person interview with managers from the Data Department. I got to present my experience and answer some basic questions about my technical skills. The hiring process requires approval from at least 4 Directors or higher. My final interview had a lot of people, maybe 7 or 8, but it felt like 20. I was asked why they should hire me, and I explained why I'm awesome. They also asked about my previous work experiences. During both face-to-face interviews, the interviewers were typing on their laptops, which was a bit distracting but also made me less nervous. They decided to offer me the job during that interview. I filled out onboarding paperwork and got a book to read before training. I had a drug screening the next day, but could have taken more time. Then there was a references and background check. After that was done, I got an email confirming my start date.

Saw an online ad for this job and applied. It had some Excel logic questions upfront. I was really excited and did a lot of research on the company and their CEO's blog. Got a call from a recruiter for a phone screening and then an invitation to interview in person. The interview was a panel of 6 people, all with their laptops open. They asked me theoretical situational questions, what I'd do with data, and what Excel formulas I'd use. I felt really comfortable during the interview, and it seemed to go well. I got a call the next morning with an offer for $12/hour, which shocked me. I spoke to HR, who said she couldn't negotiate and questioned what I expected. I was really disappointed and turned down the offer. The job is listed again now.
