Application Security Engineer
The interview process was good and straightforward. After your resume gets shortlisted, they'll first give you a call for a 'Screening Call'. Following that, there's a behavioural interview and then a technical round. The whole thing takes a few weeks. You really need to know how web apps work and understand vulnerabilities well, 'cause the questions are mostly scenario-based, so just knowing definitions won't cut it.
- Tell me about your skills, your salary expectations, your web security experience, and why you're interested in this role.
- Describe how you'd handle a conflict with a colleague, client, or manager, and share an example of a past failure and your career goals for this position.
- Could you explain a specific vulnerability, create a payload for it, triage a sample vulnerability report using CVSS, and tell me if a given scenario constitutes a vulnerability, explaining your reasoning? Also, describe how DNS and other backend systems function.
Marketing Manager
I applied online and then had a video call with HR. It was just audio, no video. The HR person was a nice American lady and she asked the typical questions about my past jobs, what I liked and disliked, and why I moved on from previous roles. However, she started the conversation by talking about the war in Gaza for about 4-6 statements. While she wasn't taking sides, I didn't expect political talk in an interview.
- Can you provide background on your previous job?
- What were your reasons for leaving your last position?
- Could you describe the campaigns you have managed?
Program Manager
It was a long interview process. I had an initial phone screening and then about 5 or 6 video interviews over 2 months. I think there was a recruiter call, a hiring manager call, and an executive call, but I spoke to most of the team and the hiring manager twice, which was redundant. The interviews with the teammates were more like chats after I had already done 4 interviews. The company and people were great, but the interview process was crazy long. I spent at least 6 hours on video calls, plus an hour on the application and 1-2 hours preparing for interviews and presenting. It's tough to put in 30+ hours of prep and not get selected. I had to rush my recruiter because I had offer deadlines.
- Can you explain the meaning of XYZ?
Technical Customer Success Manager
I was asked to schedule an interview using the recruiter's calendar link, but she was booked out for 3+ weeks. I had to email to see if something sooner was available. After passing the initial screen, I scheduled a second interview with 2 hiring managers for the following week. The day before, I got an email canceling the interview because they had filled the position. It was very unprofessional since people take time off work, plan, and prepare for these interviews. They also make you watch a 30-minute video about the company to prep. It's very odd how they select candidates without completing interviews.
- Can you tell me about your current role and experience?
