First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Buffalo Wild Wings.
Manager
Had two phone interviews that led to a 40-minute on-site interview. After that, I had a Zoom call interview. The person on the call seemed like they had a very late night and I felt like I was interrupting their sleep. Not impressed.
- What makes you like the hospitality industry?
- Would you be okay with working long and late night shifts?
- Tell me about your management style.
Restaurant Manager
When interviewing with Buffalo Wild Wings, you gotta know your Behavioral Interview Questions and how to answer them. Usually, there's an initial phone interview first. After that, you'll likely have a one-on-one with a Regional Manager. You might get an offer then, but sometimes they'll throw a panel interview at you with a few regionals or GMs.
- Can you share an instance where you collaborated closely with someone with a significantly different personality than your own?
- Could you provide an example of a conflict you encountered while working as part of a team and how you resolved it?
- Tell me about a time you had difficulty establishing rapport with a key individual and how you ultimately managed to do so.
Restaurant Manager
I applied online and heard back from the recruiter the same day. We scheduled a phone interview, but they never called. I followed up and rescheduled, and again, no call. After several more follow-ups, another person contacted me six weeks later. The actual interview, lasting 45 minutes, was in week seven. It was quite thorough. They mentioned I'd be a good fit for a GM role, even though I applied for Heart of House. They said I was one of their best interviews ever and that I'd definitely advance, asking me to wait for local contact, and to reach out again if I didn't hear back in a couple of weeks. I waited three weeks, and nothing happened. I emailed the initial interviewer and heard back ten days later that the Regional Manager decided to go with someone else without ever speaking to me. The whole process took 12.5 weeks and involved zero in-person interviews. It's frustrating because they always advertise for managers but don't seem to recruit seriously. It's unprofessional to waste people's time like this.
