I had 2 interviews. The first one was with a Regional Manager. He asked a lot of questions and was very thorough. The second interview was with the VP of Operations. It was kind of lame. He mostly just talked about himself and how good he is at his job. He didn't ask anything business related. He also used a lot of industry jargon and sayings, like you'd hear at a business seminar where someone is trying to motivate you with canned responses.

It was a pretty standard interview. My interviewer was nice and helpful, and asked good questions. After the interview, I realized I didn’t really want the job but I was thankful for the chance and experience.

Behavioral Technical

When you're interviewing for a job, make sure you're evaluating and learning as much as you can about the person you'll be working for and the company's core values and beliefs. I say this because I knew right away from this interview that this boss was going to be a tough one to work with. Plus, knowing how many general managers were termed before you.

  • How did you manage food, beverage, and labor costs?
  • Can you share some examples of how you've handled employee situations?
  • What is your philosophy on accountability?
