Software Engineer
This company reached out to me, and honestly, if you're an engineer they contact, I'd seriously think twice about going through their interview process. Applying directly might be a better experience. I suspect they only reached out to me to hit some internal target, making me feel like my time was wasted. I had an initial recruiter screen, and then I spoke with the hiring manager, who also seemed quite inexperienced and wasn't the best communicator.
- Walk me through your background, and then we'll leave time for questions about the company.
Software Engineer
This was the smoothest and most frictionless interview I’ve ever had. My recruiter was fantastic—responsive and engaged the whole time. They offered great interview guidance, the best I’ve ever received. Plus, they gave real, actionable feedback, not just generic comments. It’s a great experience even if you don’t get the job. I had a recruiter screening call and heard back in 2 days. Then I spoke with a Director of Engineering and got feedback quickly. Finally, I did a system design and coding interview and received results promptly.
- You will be given guidance for the system design and coding rounds, with more for the system design.
- The coding portion involved matrices and was considered Leetcode easy.
- Learn to quickly recognize numerical patterns.
Software Engineer
Had an initial call with the recruiter which was really good and got me excited about the company. The technical screening felt rushed and the interviewer was curt, jumping straight into the question without an intro. The onsite interviews were mostly okay. One of the engineers conducting the coding interview seemed inexperienced, but the system design and behavioral interviews were pleasant. I got a rejection email about a week later. Initially, I was drawn to the culture, but several interviewers came across as cold and disinterested, and not well-calibrated. They also seem to highly value pedigree, especially for their product team, hiring mainly from top-tier universities. Overall, it felt quite pretentious.
- Questions similar to LeetCode medium and easy problems, as well as system design concepts from Grokking.
