BT Group Project Manager Interview Questions

Submitted an online application, and then HR called about a month later to schedule the first interview. After the interview was confirmed, I tried to ask HR some questions about it but never heard back. On the interview day, a different manager showed up than who I was scheduled with, and I hadn't been notified of this change. The interviewer started by asking me to talk about myself, but then interrupted to say they were more interested in me as a person than my professional background. They then asked personal questions like marital status, if I have children, hobbies, and drinking habits. I felt these questions were inappropriate and unrelated to the job, especially for someone who claims to have interviewed many people. I didn't hear back from HR for over three weeks after the interview, and then just got a generic rejection email. It was unclear what the assessment criteria were, as the manager didn't ask any job-related questions. The lack of communication from HR and the unprofessional questions made the whole experience quite odd. I wouldn't recommend BT.

First, there was a video interview with some basic questions like why you're interested in the job and your expectations. Then, we moved to an assessment center with three other candidates. It felt more cooperative than competitive. The task was general, not super technical PM stuff: we had to allocate a budget among three hotels for different projects, with each of us representing a hotel owner. We also had to give a presentation about a past project, like a project charter. It was a nice interview overall.

I interviewed with BT Group for a project manager position. It was a good experience overall. They were professional and structured in how they evaluated candidates, and the discussions were interesting. Some of the questions were a bit tough and felt like they were asking the same thing multiple times.
