Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bruker.
Field Service Engineer
Had a preliminary phone interview where the interviewer asked about my professional background. The interviewer was really nice, but it's frustrating when they say they'll get back to you in about a week and then two months pass without any updates.
- Why are you interested in Bruker?
- Do you have any experience with MRI?
Field Service Engineer
I was contacted via LinkedIn for an initial screening interview in English. The person who interviewed me was very friendly. After passing that, I had a second interview with the heads of technical service and sales in Spain, which was formal and somewhat dynamic. Following that, I was supposed to interview with the European HR manager. This is where the company failed; after I requested a day off from my current job, they literally left me hanging 1 minute before the interview. The initial interviewer tried to reschedule, and after I provided my availability, they never set up another interview and rejected me. It was a really bad move for a company that claims to have family values.
- They asked me some personal questions like, 'Do you plan to have children? / Do you have children?', which is illegal in Spain. Technical questions related to the position were also asked.
- Would you mind spending 2/3 of your workday traveling?
Field Service Engineer
The steps are the usual: 2 phone interviews, the first with the recruiter and the second with HR. Followed by a video call with the Hiring Manager and then an in-person interview with the Hiring Manager, Business Manager, and another HR person. After that, they disappeared. No feedback. When I asked for information, no one ever responded. Unprofessional.
- In what order would you prioritize various projects?
