Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BRR Architecture.
Architect
It was a really nice experience. The first part was a phone chat with the HR recruiter. Then, I had a second interview over zoom with the local manager and the managing individual from their corporate office in KS. I turned down the offer because it wasn't more than I make now. The office is small, but it seemed like a good place to work.
- Can you describe the design process you currently use in your daily work?
Architect
The interview process was pretty standard. The HR person called me for the first phone interview. After that, I had a Skype interview with an office manager and senior associate. Following that interview, I had another interview with one of the principals and then finally the CEO interviewed me. It was definitely a long process but it was a good experience. I think it was a pretty smooth process except for the fact that initially, the HR person took a while to get back so it was hard to figure out if I should have kept applying at other firms.
- What kind of degree did you get?
- Can you tell me about the previous work you've done with other firms?
Project Architect
They went through my whole resume. They asked direct questions about my past jobs, why I left them, and what my roles and responsibilities were. I noticed they seem to scrutinize people with multiple past employers more than those who stayed at one place for a long time, which I thought was interesting because a lot of people switch jobs to advance their careers these days, but it felt like the interviewer didn't quite get that.
- What led to your departure from your prior employer?
- Could you describe the most difficult challenge encountered during your tenure at xxx company?
