I spoke with a recruiter for the company, and they asked some general questions. I couldn't get answers to some specific things I wanted to know. The overall interview process felt pretty good though.

I was contacted by a recruiter via email to arrange a 30-minute phone screen. Subsequently, I had a 30-minute virtual video interview with the hiring manager. Following that, I participated in a one-hour virtual video meeting with a potential peer. At the conclusion of this meeting, I was informed that this individual would provide feedback but would not have a direct influence on the hiring decision, which I found unusual given the duration of our conversation. The recruiter and hiring manager had suggested a fourth interview might occur, but I received no further communication. After multiple attempts to follow up, I was sent a standard email stating they were proceeding with other candidates. This was unexpected, as the initial three interviews felt rushed and perfunctory. Few substantive questions were asked, and the discussions were generally informal. Two interviews were scheduled with little advance notice and were subject to last-minute changes, contributing to an overall feeling of disorganization and chaos. While the interactions were pleasant and the casual nature of the conversations was appreciated, the overall process presented several concerning aspects.

After applying to 7 jobs with no response, I finally found the right one. I applied on a Sunday and heard back from recruiting the next Monday. My phone interview with the recruiter was Tuesday, the hiring manager interview was the next day, and the following Monday was a full day of team interviews over Zoom. I spoke with the recruiter again, then had 30-minute chats with six other people. Five of them were really friendly and easy to talk to, asking casual questions like "what is your favorite project you've ever managed?" and "what experience do you have working with ambiguity?" One person was more intimidating and I didn't know how I was doing. They said I'd hear back by the following Monday or Tuesday, and I got the offer the next Tuesday. I applied to over 50 jobs and had 14 interviews, but this was a great experience. My advice is to practice a lot of interview questions and be prepared, as you'll talk to many people and want to have varied answers without sounding rehearsed, especially on Zoom.
