First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brooks Brothers.
Sales Associate
After applying online, I had a phone interview a couple of days later. The questions were basic and the interviewer was super friendly. Then, I scheduled an in-person interview. The interviewer there was also very friendly. The questions were a bit tough for me because I wasn't expecting to be asked, "if I had a company what would be your mission and your vision." I didn't get the job because I answered one question poorly. My advice is to know yourself really well and answer questions carefully, like the one about your capabilities and weaknesses.
- Can you teach me something?
- What would your company's mission and vision be?
- What are your strengths and areas for improvement?
Sales Associate
I interviewed with the store manager in Atlanta for Sales associate positions. She seemed as though she was doing me a favor by interviewing me, which I immediately picked up on. It also seemed like they were not in need of additional staff, but saw my resume and thought, "what the heck". The conversation was fine, typical questions. I am older and very direct with my answers which she seemed put off by a bit, but once I confirmed the lousy compensation, I didn't care at that point. Store manager, stoic, un-fun, and un-cool. I can only imagine what working there would be like. Although I did respond through email to her as follow up afterwards with a "nice to have met you". No response back. Very UN-COOL.!!! Certainly tells me alot.
- Tell me about yourself.
Sales Associate
It was a chill vibe, pretty friendly. They asked about how I handle client service and keeping clients. I also showed off how much I know about the products and the company's past. I talked about how I sell and my style. The shop is small, so they showed me around the back and the sales floor. I met the assistant managers and the store GM.
- How would you describe your approach to delivering top-tier client service?
- Could you share some information regarding the history of Brooks Brothers?
- What is your process for ensuring excellent client service?
