It was some time ago, but I really liked the interview process I experienced at Brook Street. I was new to recruitment and it was my first recruitment interview but we had a nice informal chat and I answered some questions which were related to the role but also in an effort to get to know me. I was then given a scenario and left for around 10 mins to prep. Essentially it was to see if I could sell. I got feedback immediately, the negatives and positives and was then offered the job, for which I had to neg. a bit on the basic salary. We met in the middle and I felt it was somewhere I would enjoy working as there was a little room for the individual. I also liked that there weren't multiple rounds of interview.

I sent emails to all the local recruitment agencies in Walsall, including Brook Street. Brook Street responded right away, unlike the others. Even contacting recruiters on LinkedIn didn't get a response. The branch manager from Brook Street contacted me about available local job openings, which all sounded really good. She was very nice and helpful. She mentioned that even though I don't have experience in this field, she still offered me a registration. This was surprising because usually, agencies want candidates with experience, and if you have no employment history at all, you have no chance of registering. This feels like a great way for me to start and open up many excellent opportunities!

The hiring process starts with a quick call to chat about your background and if you're interested in the role. If that goes well, you'll have a longer Zoom interview with someone from our team. After that, we'll have you come to our office for an in-person interview so we can get to know you better and show you around. You might have another face-to-face interview to meet more people on the team or leadership. Lastly, there's a final Zoom interview to go over anything else and talk about what's next.

It was a 3 stage interview process. First, there was a phone call where they decided if they wanted to invite me for a face-to-face interview at the branch. They asked a lot of questions about sales, my thoughts on the recruitment roles, and what I thought would be challenging. There might have been a role-play with the Branch Manager, but definitely with Senior Management.
