First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Broadway Technology.
Software Engineer
The interview process started with a phone screen handled by the contracting company, Karot. During this stage, I had to submit a code sample, about 100 lines long, and then discuss it with an employee. After that, there was a 'Super Day' which included three coding interviews and several fun activities. I found the people to be incredibly nice, and the overall interview experience, even over Zoom, was very positive, unlike other companies I've interviewed with.
- Tell me about a code sample you submitted (around 100 lines).
- What would be your approach to creating a new language?
Software Integration Engineer
Had an HR interview first, then an initial technical screen. After that, there were three interviews with members of the PS team, followed by two meetings with senior PS team members. The interview process involved technical coding challenges, discussions about my suitability for the role and my job history with different interviewers, and some problem-solving questions that weren't coding-based.
- Tell me about your practical coding experience.
- Can you explain this code?
- Walk me through your work history.
Software Engineer
I got my offer in early October. After I go to the super weekend at the end of October, HR told me my offer was rescinded because I did not attend the whole activity which was located in a bar till midnight. Ridiculously, they said the super weekend is also part of the interview which was never mentioned before. I am a 22-year-old student who does not like alcohol and did not go to the bar before. I felt uncomfortable staying in a noisy atmosphere and asked HR whether I can leave early. HR happily said yes. Then, the candidates (at least 3 as far as I knew) left early got their offer rescinded. PLEASE DO continue interviewing with other companies and NEVER choose broadway. Who knows whether it will withdraw your offer one day before you enter the company :) I really hope I could upload the picture as evidence, but it seems glassdoor does not allow me to do so. Toxic company environment :) And I felt lucky that my offer got rescinded otherwise I may be forced to drink otherwise got fired later:)
- Virtual onsite, 3 rounds, 2 questions per round. No behavior questions. Simple algorithm questions like traverse tree.
- OOD like design a hash table.
- OOD like design a class schedule.
