Applications Support Engineer
So the first part was a quick 30-min chat with HR, where they walked me through what the job is all about and how the hiring process works, and we talked about why I'm interested. Then, I had a 45-minute session with the hiring manager, which was more technical and focused on my current role. After that, there was a take-home technical challenge with about 15 questions covering SQL, debugging, C#, and some finance terms like VaR. The final round, lasting about 30 minutes, was with the hiring manager and another team member. Unfortunately, three weeks later, I heard they went with someone else.
- Could you share an instance of a support issue from your current role?
- How do you approach debugging?
- What is Value at Risk (VaR)?
Cloud Support Engineer
The process was really neat and clean, and they expected me to be ready to dive deep into the role I was applying for. It was a great experience overall, and my interview went really well. I felt confident answering all the questions, I showed off my skills effectively, and the interaction with the interviewers was great. I'm feeling good about how things turned out.
- What methods can be used to limit inbound traffic to a VPC?
Applications Support Analyst
It was a moderate-level interview. We talked about past experience, questions directly from my resume, and some behavioral questions. Typical questions asked were: “Why do you want to join us?”, “What are your salary expectations?”, “What did you do in your previous role?”, and “Define Elastic Cloud Computing.”
- Could you explain cloud computing to someone who has no prior knowledge of it?
- Can you explain what cloud computing is to someone with no background in it?
