I applied online and got a call the next day that led to two interviews. The first went well, and I was invited back to meet with the GM. For my second interview, I met with the hosting manager. He explained hosting levels and offered me a hosting position since my serving experience was a bit dated, even though I'd recently started serving again. I declined due to the pay. I mentioned my nursing student background and how my clinicals involved similar prioritization and customer service skills. He then asked for a recent patient scenario, which I described. This must have impressed him, as he then had the GM speak with me. The GM described his management style and asked if I could transition from casual dining to fine dining. I accepted the challenge, and he welcomed me to the team.

Managers and recruiters have been working on this list of questions for job interviews. Many managers prioritize hiring for skills, but unfortunately, they sometimes overlook character. Because hiring people who don't have the right character traits causes so many issues, more and more managers are asking questions that help them figure out a candidate's character when they interview them. Also, the legal risks associated with hiring someone negligently are pushing companies to adopt hiring policies that focus more on character.

Applied online and got contacted a few days later to schedule an interview. When I came in, I had to fill out a paper application even though I already submitted online. First interviewed with the Assistant General Manager, who was very rude and didn't seem to like me very much. Immediately after, I interviewed with the General Manager, who was actually very nice compared to the Assistant Manager. I was offered the job but declined because the restaurant looked very dirty and unkempt.
