First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brinkmann Constructors.
Project Manager
Very unusual. HR person contact me for an initial F2F interview. The interview lasted about 45 minutes, and the HR person had 3-4 pages of pre established personality questions to ask me. Wanted to know every single detail of previous work experience, including performance reviews from 5 years ago. HR person didn't know details of open position at all, and couldn't answer any questions related to said position, training program, market conditions, etc. It felt like a waste of time for both parties; they could have gone over personality questions via the phone.
- Can you provide specific examples of topics that were brought up in your performance reviews at past companies?
Intern
It was a really straightforward process. I met them at my university's job fair, and from there, we arranged an on-campus interview. I got a call back the very next day to schedule a second interview at their main office, which has a great environment. They extended an offer to me a week after that second interview.
- Can you tell me about your five-year career goals?
IT Support Specialist
I met with the IT Director and two HR folks. They made me feel super comfortable, which helped me show off my tech skills and my personality. They also gave me a good rundown of the company and its cool perks. Left feeling confident about the whole thing.
- Can you describe your responsibilities in previous positions?
- What technical skills and experience do you have?
Project Engineer
First I had a phone call which was part interview, part initial contact. Then I was invited for an in-person interview. This interview was with the head of HR, not with any engineers. This made it tough to talk about my previous work and how my skills could benefit the company.
- What unique value can you bring to us that other companies cannot?
