Software Engineer
Started with a generic phone screen with an external recruiter. Then had a meeting with the director of engineering / hiring manager over Google Meet. After that, there was a take-home technical assessment. I was told my solution was 'good', but not 'great' and no other feedback was given. Applied twice, first in 2020 and then again in 2021 after they initially dropped the ball but apologized. The whole thing took between 8 and 12 hours, done via Zoom. It started with a recruiter call, then a meeting with the tech recruiting manager. After that, there was a take-home assignment that took about 2-3 hours, though I never got feedback on it even though they promised. Then a 2-hour pair programming screening where they kinda gave away the answers. Next, I met the team, mostly with scripted questions from one person. Then I met more of the team, followed by meeting the management team and the founder. It wrapped up with a debrief with the tech recruiting manager.
- What would be your approach if you had the chance to rebuild our products from the ground up without any limitations?
Software Engineer
We start with a screening call with management where we'll chat about your background, your experience, and what you're looking for in your next role. Then, you'll have an on-site interview that includes culture questions, programming problems, and professional questions. We'll also ask about the contents of your resume and your experiences, and your willingness to learn new things. It's a well-structured process with no overlapping questions or problems. Expect whiteboard and design-type problems.
