First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brilliant Earth.
Sales Representative
The initial phone interview was pretty standard and lasted about 45 minutes. They asked typical behavioral questions. Everything went well during the chat. To my surprise, they offered me the job right after, and I took it. It was a good experience overall.
- Describe your communication style and your sales experience.
Sales Representative
I went through 3 interviews. They were okay, but the one with a specific person, before the final chat with the CEO, was strange. He couldn't properly answer my questions about the company's diversity and their stance on it. It felt like a big waste of time since I didn't get an offer.
- Can you share an example from a previous role that demonstrates how you'd be successful in this one?
Sales Assistant
The whole interview process took a little over two weeks and it felt like they were stretching things out. It started with a phone interview, then a quiz about the website and sales skills, followed by an hour-long video interview. A few days later, they asked for three references, including a direct manager, and contacted them for feedback. After that, they sent an agreement for a background check and scheduled a call with upper management. This seemed like a lot for an entry-level position with a salary that's not great for Los Angeles, especially since they didn't ask for references or a background check upfront. The bonus structure also seemed questionable for a sales role that relies on experience and company reputation. I ended up taking another offer that was more transparent about compensation and had a more straightforward interview process, starting with meeting the team I'd be working with.
- What would you do if a customer came a long way to see a piece of jewelry that showed as available on the website, but it wasn't actually in stock at the store?
