Applied online. It was a pretty average interview. It started with an initial 30-minute phone call with HR, then a skills assessment, and after that, another phone call with the person currently in the role of product marketing associate.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

Since I'm based in NY, NY, the whole interview process was over the phone or video chat. It started with an HR Phone Screening (30 mins) where they asked standard questions like why Brilliant Earth, why this role, salary expectations, and ideal work environment. They also asked about my internship and previous work experience, specifically about the workflow, what analytical tools I've used, and if I had any immediate ideas for website changes. Next was a Hiring Manager Phone Interview (1 hr). This included questions about what 'Beyond Conflict' means to me, why Brilliant Earth, any concerns about the role or team's work, and again, suggestions for website changes. They also asked for an example of a good e-commerce checkout process and some behavioral questions about using data. The final round was a video conference interview (2 hrs total). It began with 45 mins with the VP of Marketing discussing past experience. Then, there were two exercises (30 mins) with the VP and hiring manager: one involved discussing a homepage mockup (visuals and content) and the other was a case study to calculate cost of conversion by hand. Finally, I spent 30 mins with another online product marketing associate doing another exercise, discussing a product page mockup and potential changes. Throughout all interviews, they kept asking 'Why Brilliant Earth?' and emphasized they're looking for motivated individuals who can work independently and want to grow with the company.

I applied online and went through two phone interviews. The first was with an HR coordinator and the second was with the VP of Marketing. The questions they asked during the phone screens were quite specific. They also included quantitative reasoning questions that seemed unrelated to the role.
