Marketing Associate
The interview process for this role took over a month. It involved three phone interviews, submitting writing samples, and completing a writing exercise. I then had an in-person interview which included another phone interview, and several in-person tests. Applying for this position felt like a full-time job in itself, and there was no consideration for my time, which is typical of the company's culture. It had a very startup vibe in terms of expectations and what they'd ask of you.
- Can you describe your past experience?
- What experience do you have?

The first call was good, it had basic interview questions and a mental math part. I didn't really get the mental math part for a marketing job where you'd have a computer all the time. It felt like they just wanted to catch people off guard, which I didn't like. Then I had another interview where the second person asked me the same questions as before, plus more mental math. A few days later, I got an email saying no offer. I think they wanted someone with more Excel experience since I was sure about my answers.
- Can you explain what "beyond conflict free" means to you?
- Can you explain the purpose of the mental math component for this marketing role?
- Regarding your qualifications, could you elaborate on your experience with Excel?
Marketing Associate
I found the position on my university job board. The process was really quick from the first interview to the next steps. It included an initial phone chat, a video call with the marketing manager, a video chat with the marketing director, and then a phone interview with one of the co-founders. The marketing team seems great, the company has solid values, and opportunities sound promising. We didn't see eye to eye with my target salary range, which was the main reason I turned down the offer.
- What would your current employer say is something you need to improve on?
