So, my interview with Brightwheel was originally set for Tuesday, but the recruiter pinged me the morning of to reschedule for Friday. I was cool with it, but I let them know I'd be out of town, might have dodgy internet, and my granddaughter might be around. They said no worries. I prepped by testing my tech beforehand. Come Friday, I logged in super early (like 9:40 for a 10 AM start) from the business center. When tech issues popped up, I told the recruiter I'd switch to my phone, and she gave me a thumbs up. After I reconnected, though? Total ghosting. I sent a bunch of follow-up emails asking to link back up or reschedule, and crickets. It's weird because their company talks a big game about values and respect, but this whole thing felt really unprofessional. Candidates put in a lot of work to prep, and a simple acknowledgment should be the bare minimum.

The interview process was brief, swift, and characterized by frequent and thorough communication. This level of responsiveness is quite exceptional in the tech industry! Even with their expansion, I got a sense of a positive company culture and a close-knit team. I'd be delighted to apply for this or another position here again in the future.

I had two conversations with people at the company. They were both really friendly and helpful, and they asked me some interesting questions. The recruiter did a good job of explaining what the job would be like and told me about the company's work, values, and mission.
