I went through several rounds of interviews with leaders and two peers. The company culture felt positive, and the recruiter was great. I felt good about the company after the interviews, their strategy, and how they invest in their employees and tools.

The first interview was a phone screening, which went great. The recruiter was very nice and it wasn't an intimidating interview, lasting about 20 minutes. I have my Master's in child development and years of experience in a day-care setting. When I arrived for my in-person interview, the director immediately told me that she couldn't hire me because my resume lacked director experience. Despite this, she proceeded with the interview and a tour of the center. It felt like she had already decided not to hire me before I even arrived, which was a waste of my time.

I applied for an Assistant Director job at two different locations, Giralda Farms and Bayer Discovery Days. It seemed like a bait-and-switch tactic to get more teachers. After talking to HR, the directors from both centers, and the regional manager, they said they were hiring internally for the AD role but offered me a teaching job instead. I understand promoting from within, but I wish they hadn't wasted my time if that was their plan. The regional manager had actually asked if I'd be willing to be a teacher first and then get promoted, which made me suspicious. I have a lot of experience as an early childhood teacher and was ready for the next step. I turned down the teaching offer and contacted HR about another Assistant Director position I saw. She said she'd check if my bachelor's degree was enough and get back to me, even though I'd already checked the qualifications when I applied. If my degree was an issue, why interview me twice for the same job at a different location? It's been two weeks, and I haven't heard back about my qualifications or the position. The interviewers were nice, but the whole experience was misleading.
