I called a number I saw on a job posting in the Wilk and they got back to me pretty fast. It was basically just a chat to see if the job fit with my life and what I had going on. He had a bunch of research projects, so he could put me where I would fit. I found out later he had a feeling I'd be a good assistant, even though he'd worked with pre-med students before who weren't really into the research but just wanted to tick a box for med school.

A professor mentioned in class that the undergraduate research program was looking for several more research assistants. I applied online and I met with two professors in my department. After the interview, they set me up to work with one of them. I stayed there for the rest of my undergraduate degree and stayed on for my Master's.
