First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Briggs Industrial Solutions.
General Manager
Had an initial phone call with HR that lasted almost an hour. They assured me I was moving forward quickly, but then I was ghosted. Be warned: if this is how HR treats candidates, imagine how they handle employees. They aren't your allies.
- Can you provide an overview of people development, processes, and procedures?
Management Trainee
I talked with Briggs after my college career fair, and then went to their corporate office in Dallas. It was a good experience overall. The interviews seemed to be checking if you would fit into their company culture as much as if you would do well in the management trainee role. Most of the questions asked seemed to be best answered with work experience. Any leadership role will help you through this interview process. The people I met from Briggs all seemed to be genuine good people. The process was fun. I'm waiting to hear back about the job.
- Tell me about a situation where you had a disagreement with your group or team members.
Sales
I had two 1.5 hour interviews. The first one was with the Branch Manager. The second interview had the Branch Manager and the Marketing Manager. I really pursued the position, always staying in touch with the hiring. I found out Briggs is not what I thought, and Austin is a bad market for them. It was disappointing to learn this, and I learned it the hard way. Things got tough with demands, and people were leaving.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- Do you value your own abilities and expect to be respected?
- How do you handle situations where an employer doesn't show you the respect you deserve?
Training Manager
I had a phone screen, then a TEAMS interview with the Hiring Manager on a Monday. She mentioned she'd be on vacation the next week but promised an update by Wednesday. I never heard back. After her vacation week, I left a voicemail and an email, neither of which got a response. A few weeks later, they reposted the job with a slightly different title (Manager, Technician Training), the same job description, but with a significantly lower salary. I'd advise staying away from this company because they seem unsure of their hiring needs.
