First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brickman.
Account Manager
Got a tip about this job from a buddy in the industry. Hit up a Divisional recruiter for a 1:1 chat. They then passed me along to the branch manager. After that, I had another interview a few weeks later with the branch manager and the regional manager. Waited a few days to hear back, and another company made me an offer. I called the recruiter to let them know I was deciding that week and that Brickman seemed like the best fit. They called me back 15 mins later with an offer, which I took. I started two weeks after I told my old job I was leaving.
- Do you have connections in the landscape industry?
- What are your hobbies outside of work?
Plant Health Care Specialist
I applied in November and had a phone interview with a recruiter. Then an HR person called me. The branch manager was supposed to call me back, but he set up an interview anyway. The day before, HR confirmed the interview with the branch manager. The manager was surprised to see me but we talked for about 45 minutes. He said one of his managers would be in touch. A few days later, HR let me know the manager liked me and would send an offer. After I accepted, HR told me when to start. The whole thing took about 5 weeks.
- Were there any questions that were too difficult to answer?
Crew Leader
The interview process was very good. They made me feel welcome and were very attentive to listening to me. The organization was impressive. They asked me all the questions I would have asked if I were conducting an interview. I received a call from the branch manager informing me that I had an interview with him and the production manager.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience?
- What type of equipment experience do you possess?
Human Resources Coordinator
For this lower level position, there were two in-person interviews. Traveling so far on my own expense made it a bit tough, but the team was very accommodating, which helped. It's challenging to get away from work twice for interviews in a professional setting. The team was really nice and positive though. I had a feeling they'd offer me the job, which was good.
- Can you name the five main areas within human resources?
