First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brex.
Product Manager Intern
Had 6 interviews with different teams, including a case study. Talked with product, eng, design, HR, and finance. The whole thing felt like it took forever, and then I got ghosted at the end.
- Can you share an instance of collaborating with challenging stakeholders from different departments?
Product Manager
Got a recruiter call first, and after passing it, they offered a prep call for the next round. The next step was a product sense interview with a PM from a different team, where I had to answer a design x for y question. Then came the virtual on-site which included a session with an engineering director to assess execution, a business sense question from another PM lead about hitting financial targets for x (I liked the context switching here), and a final 1-hour session with another PM lead to check for value fit. After the onsite, there was a background check.
- The recruiter prepped me for the questions.
Product Manager
The interview process was chaotic and lacked clarity. I cleared two rounds, including one with product leadership, only to be asked to repeat the same round without any justification. Several interviews were scheduled and then abruptly canceled, or never rescheduled. The recruiters' communication was inconsistent, and the requirements seemed to change. It was unclear if I was genuinely being considered for the role or just being kept on hold for potential future openings. In sum, this was a very unusual and irritating interview experience.
- What do you think is the most critical aspect for a product manager to execute effectively?
