Software Engineer
My interview experience at Brevo for Software Engineer - Golang was really good. The online round had sharp interviewers who asked direct tech questions. There were 3 live coding questions and 1 verbal explanation question. One interviewer was particularly interested in how I approach technical questions during coding. The in-person round involved questions about my past experience, my roles, responsibilities, and the challenges I encountered in production environments, along with how I solved them. The TA team was very helpful, explained the whole process, and provided feedback after each call.

Customer Success Manager
Communication was really smooth throughout, especially with a super responsive recruiter. But the final interview was a letdown, the use case felt more like onboarding work. I had to prep a QBR with a tech presentation on the platform and a data analysis. The catch? No data on the account handover, so I had to guess the context, which seemed way too much for managers to ask for, especially since marketing skills weren't listed as required. My advice to managers: be clearer about skill expectations to save candidates' energy, as these use cases take a lot. Ghosting candidates after two less-than-ideal answers on questions that should be onboarding topics suggests big integration challenges. Clarifying required skills upfront would prevent confusion.
- Conduct a QBR analysis using a website and quarterly figures, omitting any handover details. Success in meeting lead CSM expectations might depend on luck.
Content Marketing Manager
My interview with Brevo was well-organized and interesting. It began with an email from HR acknowledging my application and setting up an initial phone chat. This was followed by a first video interview with the HR manager where we talked about my experience, skills, and how I saw the role. After that, I was invited for a second interview with important people from the team, like the Directors of Marketing and Content Strategy. This part was more focused on the job itself, digging into my content marketing background, SEO methods, and how I've handled campaigns before. We went over different situations and I had to give specific examples from my past work.
- Can you share some information about yourself and your experience in content marketing?
Product Manager
The first HR interview went fine. But from the first minutes of the interview with the manager, the atmosphere became extremely unpleasant. I had researched the platform before the interview, but the manager's condescending tone shocked me when I described what I understood about the platform, calling it a "marketeux pitch" instead of a "product description". I then realized I hadn't used the platform, which was free (my fault). The manager's reaction was moralizing. During my presentation, he interrupted me often and asked a personal question about my activities between jobs, suggesting toxic management judging personal aspects of candidates. Throughout the interview, the manager had a negative and condescending attitude, seeming to think my not being registered on the platform meant my profile deserved no consideration. This negative vibe disappointed me about the company's human approach. Ironically, one of Brevo's values is humility. To top it off, I never heard back from HR. Radio silence.
