First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Breeze Airways.
Software Engineer
I was referred by two upper managers. The process seemed straightforward and quick at first, but it turned out to be a bit more involved. There were three interviews for this senior engineer role: a tech interview and two 1:1s. I thought I did great on the technical assessment, acing all the questions and the coding test. After the tech test, I was told HR would contact me within the week, but I never heard back, not even a rejection. It's the first time in my 20 years in this field that a major company has ghosted me. It felt really unprofessional and frustrating. I sent two follow-up emails, which HR opened, but I still got no response. I wouldn't recommend this company.
- Can you explain OOP principles and rules like inheritance and polymorphism?
- What are your thoughts on async calls and objects?
- Let's do a coding question.
Software Engineer
The first interview was a technical one with a coding challenge. After that, there was a non-technical interview to meet more of the team and ask questions. It was a casual get-to-know-you chat where I also had the chance to ask them questions.
- Can you tell me about your professional experience with Angular?
Software Engineer
After I submitted my application, I got a one-line email with two coding problems to solve by a certain date. Once I finished those, I had a technical interview with the software development manager. He seemed really disengaged during the interview, sometimes distracted by his computer or people coming into the room. I was asked a couple of questions: a standard 'who are you and what have you done?' and then about a failure I'd experienced. He mentioned a programming test would follow the interview, but it never happened. I was later rejected, with the reason being that I didn't have the required skillset, and I didn't have previous airline experience. My advice would be to filter candidates based on resumes first if they have specific skill requirements.
- Can you introduce yourself and tell me about your experience?
- Can you share an example of a professional failure?
