it was a two round process. the first was a technical round where they tested my python, sql, machine learning, data science, and time series knowledge. the second was a managerial round focusing on the company's ecosystem, their products, and how credit cards work in general.

They look at your resume first to see if you have the basic qualifications. Then, a short call with HR or a recruiter to go over your background, when you can start, and if you're interested. If it's a role that needs it, you might have to do a test or project to show your skills. The first interview is with HR or a manager, asking about your experience and motivation. After that, you'll meet with the team or a panel to discuss how you work and fit in. Sometimes there's a final interview with someone higher up. Then you might get an offer or hear back.

I've interviewed with Alliance Data a few times in the last year. The process seems to be: apply/get contacted, have a phone screen, then come in for about a 2-hour interview with multiple team members. The interviews themselves aren't too hard, but their HR practices are really lacking. There's a clear gap between the interviewers and HR. The interviewers can make it seem like you'll get hired, even talking like you already have the job, giving examples like not needing to pack lunch on Wednesdays. This is a really unfair way to treat people looking for jobs, especially since the job hunt is already difficult. After my experiences, I wouldn't apply with them again because they've shown me they're not a company I'd want to work for.
