I spoke with the hiring manager first. It was a casual chat where I talked about my background. It felt like a real conversation. It took about half an hour. If I'd moved forward, there were supposed to be two more interviews.

It was really disappointing because they showed no respect for my time. The recruiting and management team didn't communicate well, they stretched the process out way longer than expected, and then they didn't even bother to close the loop with me after I was a finalist. They didn't reply to my or my recruiter's emails. The final step was a presentation but they didn't give any clear written instructions on what they wanted. It was super disorganized. I'm disappointed I invested so much time with Braze, but honestly, I think I dodged a bullet. I strongly suggest AVOIDING Braze!

I had a really bad screening call for a TAM position at Braze. It was with an internal recruiter and only lasted about five minutes. It felt super rushed and like they weren't really trying to get to know me or have a real conversation. She said the process would be: first, I'd talk about my background, and then she'd give me details about the job and company. But as soon as I started talking about myself, she cut me off and said they were prioritizing internal candidates, even though the job's been posted externally for weeks. It was so abrupt, unprofessional, and confusing, it just gave me a bad vibe about how Braze hires.
