First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Braze.
Enterprise Account Executive
First, I had a chat with the recruiter. After that, I had several talks with the hiring manager and other team folks. There was also a presentation where I had to show I knew about Braze and sales.

Account Executive
The GM reached out on LinkedIn about the Account Executive role. I was hesitant because I was a Head of Sales, but they said they were looking for someone more senior and hadn't posted the job yet. The process involved several conversations, but it felt repetitive with basic questions. The interviewers seemed unprepared and hadn't reviewed my CV. They even asked how I heard about the role and why I applied, which was odd since they contacted me. The final round, maybe the 4th or 5th chat, required a presentation on recent wins and how challenges were overcome. I was frequently interrupted during the presentation, possibly to test my reaction. The experience felt disrespectful, and they weren't ready for my questions about why I should join, why people leave, or the company culture. Given they approached me for a role they couldn't fill, I expected them to sell the opportunity better. Instead, their behavior came across as arrogant and ignorant. We mutually decided not to proceed.
- Can you share something not on your resume?
- Could you pitch a product you've sold?
- Walk me through a winning deal for that product, covering prospect to close, your sales approach, and how you identified key stakeholders.
Enterprise Account Executive
I was emailed by a recruiter in August but wasn't interested then. A month later, I reached out as I was looking for a new role, but that recruiter had left Braze. Then, another recruiter contacted me to schedule the first round, which happened a couple of weeks later. They mentioned following up with a manager interview, but I heard nothing back for three weeks. I wasn't seriously interviewing elsewhere yet, but when I started looking more seriously, I asked for an update, and a third recruiter contacted me to schedule another first round. Honestly, the disorganization was already apparent, showing how little they value candidates. I informed this recruiter I'd already had a first round and was waiting for the manager round, but I spoke again after the two recruiters compared notes. I assumed this 'first round' would be brief, but they asked standard questions for 30 minutes, which was fine, I wasn't too upset about wasting three weeks. After this call, I was expecting a manager round confirmation and was told to reach out if I didn't hear back in three days. I didn't hear anything, so I reached out, and the recruiter told me they decided not to move forward, even though I felt qualified and the first-round conversations seemed to confirm it. I'm okay with rejection, but my experience with three recruiters, essentially two first rounds, and a promised second round after four weeks... it's frustrating. They could have been more organized and respectful, not wasting my time like that.
- The recruiter asked standard questions during the initial phone screening.
