First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brainlab.
Software Engineer
I applied for a senior software engineer position at snke os via brainlab. About a month later, a recruiter from snke OS sent me a coding challenge on HackerRank. I finished the challenge with perfect scores and answers. I didn't hear back for a while, so I followed up with the recruiter multiple times. Eventually, I got a rejection email. My advice to others: if you get a coding challenge from brainlab or snke OS, don't bother doing it on HackerRank or similar platforms, because you'll get rejected no matter how well you do.
- Average difficulty coding questions in C# or Go, with 4 multiple-choice questions, on the HackerRank platform.
Software Engineer
It started with a casual chat with the Head of Software Engineering, who would be my direct manager, just to get acquainted. Around the same time as this meeting, I also had to complete an online coding challenge which was of appropriate difficulty. Following that, there was another interview with the HR representative, the team lead (same as before), and a Senior Team Member for the role. Initially, they asked some general questions to get a feel for my work and personality. I also had the chance to ask my own questions about the position, the team, etc. After the general questions, the HR person left, and the two software team members started asking very different technical questions. The difficulty varied a lot, but they were very understanding when I couldn't answer some questions.
- Please select a software project you've worked on previously, during your studies or in your professional life, and tell us about it. How was the planning carried out? What were the main challenges encountered?
Software Engineer
So first I had a phone interview with a frontend engineer, it was like a get to know each other vibe with some easy tech questions. Then, about 15 days later, I had a longer video call, like 1.5 hours, with the R&D manager, a senior engineer, and the recruiter. It was mostly technical stuff digging into my past experience and also some Agile questions. I felt pretty good about it and thought I'd get a yes. They said I'd hear back in two weeks, but I didn't, even after trying to reach out multiple times and only getting the 'still in the process' line. Finally, after a month, I got a generic rejection email, no explanation, nothing.
