My first phone screen was good, they seemed professional. They set up a second round, I got a confirmation, and then they canceled it and filled the position. That's okay, but they didn't let me know until 10 minutes after the second round was supposed to start. I don't mind cancellations, things happen, and if they found the right person, good for them. But professionalism should be a two-way street. I rearranged my workday to make time for a potentially long interview session and was left hanging.

Behavioral Other

So after the phone screen, they had me do this take-home test where I had to read a packet of info and then write an essay about why I'm a good fit for the company. It felt like a lot to ask before even getting to the main interview, especially since applicants are busy. Then, during the interview, I talked about how my past roles lined up with the job description, but one interviewer basically shut me down, saying that wasn't what the job was about. They ended up saying I didn't get the job because they wanted someone different. They did tweak the job description a bit later, though. The other interviewers were really nice, though.

Started with a phone chat with HR. Then, an in-office visit for a two-part interview. First, met with two HR people. Second, the whole marketing crew interviewed me. After that, I had to do a grammar quiz on the spot. Then, an essay to write at home. Finally, a last talk with the CEO.
