The interview involved behavioral questions, and I was asked about my reasons for choosing audit over tax. There weren't any specific technical questions or Excel exercises. It wrapped up about five minutes early, leaving time for me to ask questions.

Had a phone interview with an SF recruiter who was very personable and professional. They did a great job coordinating the interview and following up afterward, probably the best recruiter I've dealt with. Then had an office interview with 4 Managers/Partners. They asked questions about why I wanted to work at BPM and why I was motivated to return to public accounting and auditing. I got the sense these people were top-notch professionals committed to their work and clients, and it seemed like a very positive work environment. I received positive feedback from the interviewers, but apparently, I didn't have the exact experience they needed for the position. I would highly recommend them.

Recruiters were nice and responses were quick. There were a lot of technical questions, which wasn't expected and is unusual for accounting interviews. Even Big Four firms don't typically ask such technical questions about the placement of certain accounts on balance sheets. I hadn't taken an accounting class in a year, so it caught me off guard. One interviewer seemed really disinterested, which put me off and made me not interested in the firm after the interview.
