& Process

The interview process was quite long for the part-time, low-paying job. About 2-3 days after I sent my CV, I received a call for a phone interview. After that, I had to take a test with 50 multiple-choice questions covering literacy (reading comprehension, spelling, grammar), algebra (basic formulas can be helpful), and assisting skills (hypothetical scenarios). You needed to score 85% in each section to pass, or you were automatically out. If I passed, I then went to another location for an in-person interview. The interviewer explained the job duties and services, then asked a series of questions. She wrote down my answers as she asked them. I felt it could have been more of a natural conversation, and the process felt very robotic and high-pressure since I was doing all the talking.

I applied online and got a quick call back. I went in for an interview two days later where three people interviewed me. The questions were pretty basic, asking about my past experiences, why I wanted to work there, and my career aspirations. The interviewers seemed unorganized and unsure of what they were doing.

We had a Zoom interview with 3 to 4 interviewers who rotated through asking questions. They wanted to know about my experience with children, my hobbies, what I'm studying, and what I'd want to teach.
