First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bowery Farming.
Senior Design Engineer
It was a really engaging interview process. I had the chance to connect with people from various departments, sharing my perspectives and learning about theirs. Although there were several stages, the overall experience was quite positive and exciting.

Engineer
The interview process started with a screening, then an interview with the team lead. After that, there were more interviews. I thought it went well and everyone was nice. But then I got ghosted after the 3rd round even though I followed up with the recruiter. It was really unprofessional not to tell me they chose someone else, especially since I spent a lot of time preparing and scheduling around my availability.
- Can you share an instance where you had to choose from several less-than-ideal solutions? How did you make your decision?
Design Engineer
So, there were 4 steps. First, a quick chat with HR to see if we were a good fit and they told me about Bowery. Then, a call with my potential boss, which was more technical, focusing on my skills and how they'd help the team. After that, I had an onsite interview with 5 people from different departments I'd work with. It was pretty intense, back-to-back meetings, a mix of technical, situational, and behavioral stuff. Finally, they gave me a take-home assignment with a couple of questions, a 2-page write-up, which I sent to HR. A few days later, I had a video call where I presented my assignment and answered questions from the same group for about 15 minutes.
- Can you share some general behavioral questions that helped determine if I'd be a good fit for the startup culture?
