Software Developer
The interview process at Botkeeper is really smooth and quick. From the very first time you get in touch until the very last chat, their system helps you out and gets all the info it needs, making sure everything is accurate and comfy for everyone involved.
- Can you tell me about the most challenging project you've worked on?
Product Marketing Leader
I had an introductory 30 min call. It was a general call based on experience and culture. Was told they would get back to me in the next day or two. I followed up 5 days later after hearing nothing. No response. I followed up again a week after that and got the "We are going to bring a few product people in, rather than hiring a leader at this point." They closed the position and received poor communication. I never got past the initial interview.
- Tell me about your previous experience.
Account Manager
I sent my resume and had a video call with a recruiter. I was on camera, but the recruiter wasn't. They asked about my experience and career goals, but not in a scripted way. They didn't seem interested in learning more about me or sharing info about themselves. It felt like the company is in a high-turnover phase, despite having a good product with growth potential. They need to improve their hiring and training for the recruiting team.
- When working with clients, how crucial is building relationships?
Accountant
It was a standard 3-step interview process, all done over Zoom. First, a screening with HR. Then, the main interview with the senior accountant who's in charge of hiring. Finally, an interview with the head of operations. They started with behavioral questions, then moved to technical accounting questions for the last two interviews. If you know QBO, Xero, and financial accounting basics like statements, journal entries, and closing entries, you should be fine.
- What's your experience with QBO's class tracking feature?
- Can you explain how to record and offset prepaid expenses monthly?
