Sales Account Manager
It was a really weird and fast process. I applied for what I thought was a job at a company, but it turned out to be a third-party recruiter. They saw my resume and offered me an interview super fast, like within a day or two. The first interview was in person, which is a bit odd, but okay if it was legit. It only lasted about 10 minutes and they asked really basic stuff without explaining much about the job. Then they asked me to come back the next day for another interview. This one was a bit more detailed about how the company operates. Turns out, no matter what it says online, the job starts with door-to-door sales. They seemed to be deliberately hiding this fact and the daily tasks. They didn't follow up much at all. It feels like they have a high turnover and hiring people is just part of how they operate. The interview setup and them not telling me the full details wasted my time.
- Can you tell me about your greatest weakness?
Account Manager
The hiring process was a breeze! First i met with the CEO for a preliminary interview. It was brief but to the point. Then i sat down for coffee with one of their corporate trainers for my second interview where i was explained everything. I learned what they do for their client. Why Fortune 500 companies would want to work with them. And i also learned about the career path and advancement in the company. It was so exciting to hear how much the person that did my interview enjoyed themselves here.
- Why are you interested in sales and marketing?
- Tell me about your sales experience.
- What leadership experience do you possess?
Account Manager
They reached out to me. I didn't do as much research as I should have given the economic climate and job market. There wasn't a lot of info on pay and benefits, so I went through with it. It's hourly until you hit a sales minimum, then it's commission. Benefits start after 3 months. It's basically door-to-door sales for big corporate clients, though it's digital now because of Covid. I wish I'd known the pay structure and exact job description beforehand.
- What value can you bring to the company?
