First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BorgWarner.
Software Engineer
The interviewer was late and asked questions unrelated to the job description. The interview concluded without any mention of next steps. This bait and switch turned out to be fortunate, as an acquaintance working there shared that the manager's entire department was disbanded shortly after my interview.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Software Engineer
It's for a software development position which consists of 4 rounds. The 1st is the technical round where they asked questions on C programming basics and some C coding and microcontroller basics. If you qualify then the next 2 rounds will be managerial rounds where they basically asked some technical questions and as well as your behavior and approach towards any day-to-day problem. If you qualify that last is the HR round, which basically is a salary negotiation round.
- Questions about basic C programming
- Interrupt related mechanisms in microcontrollers
- Questions on generic communication protocols
Software Engineer
A staffing company recruited me. I had about one or two phone interviews with the engineering team, not HR. After that, I went through a full-day panel interview. All the questions felt pretty fair. You should be ready to discuss your past experiences and provide examples. My background and interest in the core product area made it easy to express enthusiasm for the product line. I think showing interest in the product and a desire to learn were crucial for receiving the offer.
- Can you describe the design process?
- Tell me about a time you accomplished something under a tight deadline.
