Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BorgWarner.
Manufacturing Engineer
The overall experience was smooth. I met a recruiter at a career fair and was contacted later for an interview. The recruiter gave me a call the day before to fill me in on company information and positions so we can concentrate on information about myself for the interview. The only aspect that didn't sit well with me was the expectation of technical skills on manufacturing equipment by the engineer. I am a student and have not been in this environment pushing on that question seemed unfair. Also questioning if I'm a hands on person after my answer.
- Describe a situation where you had to collaborate with someone whose personality differed significantly from yours.
Manufacturing Engineer
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. Started with a phone screening with the hiring manager. Then, there was an onsite interview that lasted about 3 hours with some engineers and managers, followed by a 20-minute chat with an HR person. The interviews were mostly conversational, focusing on my past work experiences.
- Could you outline your approach to GD&T strategy and describe the manufacturing process for the provided part?
- Could you tell me about your previous work experience?
- What was your most recent salary?
- What kind of materials do you typically work with?
