Data Scientist
The interview process was pretty straightforward. First, there was a quick call with some basic questions and a one-off case study, like estimating the number of windows. After that, I had a take-home assignment that I had to present. I'd suggest using visuals and maybe a dashboard for the presentation.
- What's the estimated number of windows?
- How many gas stations exist?
Software Engineer
The interview process involves five stages: an initial screening, a technical assessment, a panel interview, a case study, and a final discussion. You'll submit your resume and complete coding tests, then talk about your projects with engineers. A case study will assess your problem-solving skills. The final interview with leadership is to assess cultural fit and vision alignment. Offers are made within days.
- Could you tell me about a complex project where you improved a system's performance under strict time constraints, providing specifics on your problem-solving methods and technical choices?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process was really smooth. I found the team to be personable and knowledgeable. I was asked why I was interested in leaving my current company and I mentioned that I would like the opportunity to collaborate with other teams and in my current role, no one sees the value of working together. The hiring manager asked me for an example and I provided one but, wanted to still maintain a level of professionalism. A day later, they emailed me saying that I had all of the qualifications but, they didn’t think based on what I shared about collaboration—that I would fit into the culture. The very nature of CS roles is to collaborate to ensure the success of the customer. I guess they aren’t doing that at this company either. So, I am grateful they were honest with me about it. So, no complaints there. If you are a CSM, you should be aware that they don’t collaborate much to ensure the success of clients across departments. I assume this will make your job harder. Keep in mind when you’re interviewing and be careful about what/ how you share details about your work experience.
- What is your reason for wanting to leave your present company?
Systems Administrator
It was a super long process, like 2-3 months and at least 6 interviews. I talked to 3 different HR people, felt like they weren't coordinated. They were in their busy season for about 3 weeks and I didn't hear back after emailing a few times, so I figured I didn't get it. Then out of nowhere, they contacted me again and basically made me do the last interview all over. A week later, they told me they chose someone else who was a better fit, but then I saw the same job posted again. It was just way too long and drawn out with bad communication. For a role like this, they seem to want someone with exactly the right skills already, not someone who can learn and grow, which is pretty key for any sysadmin. If that's the case, they should just hire a contractor.
- What would you do if you encountered a blank monitor?
