Manager
It's a good process. It starts with the Managing Partner at the store level, and the next step is the Regional Partner. The most important thing is to get everything in writing at the very end, because they make a lot of promises that they don't end up keeping. You should negotiate the highest salary you can because getting raises is really difficult. They tend to hire people at below market value and make a lot of promises about promotions and bonuses. The bonus is pretty much the same every month at every store and doesn't seem to vary by more than about $100. This makes managers not really focus on the details. The only real metric that matters is labor hours.
- What do you like about our company?
Manager
After submitting your application and resume, you'll have a phone interview. Then, expect a 300-question personality profile and an intelligence test. Following that, there will be several JVP and MP interviews (both regional and local management). The whole process can take 2-3 months, depending on the region and interviewer availability. Be ready to travel for interviews.
- Describe a situation where you had to present an unfavorable idea to a group and what the result was.
Restaurant Manager
I sent my resume by email and got a call for a phone interview pretty quickly. After that, they had me do a personality test and fill out an application, which I did right away. Then, I was asked to come in for an in-person interview later that week. I met with the JVP, and he gave me a conditional job offer, pending a successful background check.
