Java Developer
First, there was a phone call with HR to understand my motivation for applying. Then, I had a Skype call with a manager and an engineer where they asked more technical questions. Following these initial interviews, I completed some HR tests covering IQ and personality, along with a technical assignment to be finished at home within a few days. The final stage involved a discussion about the project I submitted.
- How would you handle escalating your application across multiple servers?
- Could you explain your reasoning for using functional programming and immutability?

I did this take-home test thing first. Then they said they wanted to chat on Skype, like, two times, one with HR and one with the engineers, both on the same day. But then HR called and pushed both interviews to the next week, no explanation. But, like, the interviews actually happened anyway 'cause I was already at my computer when they called from ball. com, and they were like, 'Oops, there was some confusion.' The HR chat was cool, but the technical interview, eh, not so much, though everyone was nice and I felt chill.
- The questions were pretty much all about my solution, specifically why I opted for an older technology stack like spring mvc and jsp over rest and angular.
- Given that the requirements explicitly stated 'please use what you want,' can you elaborate on your choice of the older technology stack for your solution?
Java Developer
It was good, 3 stages: an e-assessment, a manager interview, and a code-based interview. I answered very well but they rejected me for trivial mistakes in the code like some non-deleted numbers or some replicated code which is only a for loop and simply can be avoided.
- Implement the Mancala game in code.
