Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Board International.
Consultant
I applied through a recruiter with my CV. After a week, I heard from the HR at Board. The first interview was very casual, discussing my current projects and CV. The second interview was with HR and a senior consultant, and it was unstructured. Since I've used software from a competitor before, I got a lot of questions about that and why I want to join Board. The questions weren't super in-depth, but they asked me multiple times if I had questions for them, even though I only asked two or three. They said they'd contact me by the end of the week, but it's now been a week and I haven't heard back.
- Tell me why you want to join Board.
Consultant
After an initial standard interview, the next main part is to get familiar with the Board Software. It's a good idea to watch YouTube videos with screenshots beforehand to know your way around the software. My main problem was with connectivity, so ensure your internet connection is really strong well before the interview starts. Even if it means you have to go sit in someone else's living room. It's a great company, and the people are knowledgeable and welcoming.
- Can you describe your background and experience?
- What do you consider to be your greatest strengths and areas for improvement?
- What motivates your interest in this particular position?
Senior Consultant
After a referral from a recruiter, there will be 2-3 interviews. Later rounds may be in person if schedules and timing allow. This interview process is pretty informal compared to typical consulting interviews, as there are no behavioral questions. The main focus is on your technical qualifications and overall fit.
- Can you give a quick summary of your career path, especially explaining what led you to switch roles or companies over time?
- Tell me about your experience with implementing or enhancing a BI/CPM solution.
- Can you outline your functional experience and provide examples of how you've improved or optimized processes?
