Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BNY.
Operations Analyst
This was a very behavioral-based interview. The first round was a phone call screening with a recruiter that had 5 behavioral questions. Then there was a super day with all behavioral and situational questions.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized data to guide a decision?
- Describe a situation where you used data to make an informed decision.
Operations Analyst
It was pretty chill. Sent my CV and got a call for an interview a few days later. Had a 30 min chat where they asked me typical stuff like "why BNY", "what are your future aspirations", and "why financial services". Also some questions about their values.
- Tell me why you're interested in working at BNY.
- What are your career goals for the future?
- Why are you drawn to the financial services industry?
Operations Analyst
Prepare to get ghosted! The interview was virtual, and was organised after an initial screening call with a staff member in Manchester. There were two interviewers, who were not at all enthusiastic from the outset.
- Can you explain the difference between supervised and unsupervised learning?
